Kochi Biennale Foundation invites applications for the Master Practice Studios non-fiction comics workshop led by Orijit Sen.

The workshop will focus on creating visual narratives through the development of both story-making craft as well as non-textual knowledge. Participants will be involved over the course of the month in studio-based work and research in the community.

Orijit Sen is a graphic artist and designer, whose pioneering work River of Stories (1994) is considered to be India’s first graphic novel. He is co-founder of the Pao Collective of graphic artists, and of People Tree, a collaborative studio and store for artists, designers and craftspeople.

The workshop will run from July 10 to August 10, 2018. Students will be provided travel expenses, daily allowance, and accommodation. All materials and equipment will be provided by the Foundation.

To apply, please send (1) your portfolio of works, and (2) resume to [email protected] by June 22, 2018.

Master Practice Studios are made possible with the support of HCL Foundation and Pepper House.
