Tata Trusts and Kochi Biennale Foundation present the Tata Trust Students’ Biennale Awards to recognise emerging artists for excellence in their fields.
Tata Trusts has supported the Kochi Biennale Foundation, in collaboration with the Foundation for Indian Contemporary Art (FICA) and the Foundation for Indian Art and Education (FIAE) to develop the Students’ Biennale, an exhibitory platform which runs parallel to the Kochi-Muziris Biennale.
This edition has reached out to 55 art colleges across the country, to encourage young artists to reflect on their practice and exhibit on an international stage. The project is led by 15 emerging curators, who have brought together 470 young artists to showcase their work across 7 exhibition venues in Kochi, Kerala.
The Students’ Biennale seeks to be a pioneering effort in identifying and nurturing emerging artists and engaging new audiences with their work. With this mission in mind, the Tata Trusts Students’ Biennale Awards are an opportunity to celebrate the front runners who have contributed to the programme.
